Opal AI Selected as a Finalist in PG&E’s 2025 Pitch Fest

(Los Angeles, CA – Sept 29) – Opal AI's FireVision, dedicated to advance agentic AI for risk assessment and disaster management, is proud to announce its selection as a finalist for Pacific Gas and Electric Company’s (PG&E) 2025 Pitch Fest, taking place September 23–25 at PG&E’s Oakland headquarters.


Chosen from a competitive pool of more than 400 applicants, Opal AI joined 56 other energy and climate tech innovators in presenting solutions aimed at addressing California’s most pressing energy and climate challenges including wildfire resilience, grid modernization, electrification, and more.

Representing Opal AI, Dr. Ryan Alimo and Dr. Niloufar Abolfathian—both former NASA technologists and scientists—introduced the FireVision framework and outlined a clear partnership path for utility collaborators, particularly PG&E, a leader in moving innovation from concept to production.

PG&E’s Pitch Fest is a cornerstone of its innovation strategy, offering up to $25 million in funding to support the development and integration of promising technologies. Finalists will have the opportunity to co-develop projects with PG&E, moving quickly from concept to real-world deployment.
